why does my router disconnect from my laptop everytime i stream windows media or real player things online?

For example yesterday i wanted to listen to radio 1 chart show and i tried connecting with both windows media and real player and everytime my router goes off and stays off for at least 10 minutes each time. Why does this happen and how can i fix it becuase its really annoying as i cant watch r listen 2 windows media or real player things online :( my router is linksys and my laptop is a acer aspire 5610Z with vista home premium installed if that is any help.

If your router is turning off, it means it is not receiving electricity.

But, I doubt that's what you mean.

This sounds more like an ISP issue. Some ISPs will disconnect users for consuming too much bandwidth in a short period of time.

Try resetting your router by pushing the reset button on the router.

If this does not solve the problem, and you're not losing connectivity to your router, then the ISP is the culprit. Switch ISPs.

Thats really confusing, as Routers have got nothing to do with any particular websites.

As you are using Windows Vista, please check if this is not the trouble with the Digital Rights Management of different music files that Vista has implemented.
