Just curious because it seems superfluous.

Haven't seen the movie, but along with a kid hitting puberty there might be other reasons. For instance, if the character sings then they would have a separate actor just for the songs. Or, if the character does something like a growl or other voice effects then they might need a voice actor who specializes in it.

I didnt see the movie but im assuming maybe Lewis is a kid? If so he may have hit puberty during the voice filming of the movie and his voice changed. So they didnt want to redo all of the scenes he already did. They had to do that for Daniel Radcliff in the Harry Potter movies.
