Take note that the E6420 has double the amount of L2 cache. It may somehow compensate for its lower speed.

if there is a big price difference dont do it. I would only pay for it if it has a 20 dollar difference. You can overclock the E6400 to work the sam ghz. But be carefull because overclocking waves your warranty but if you have good cooling then you have nothing to worry about.

"would the E6400 2.13ghz be better ???"
Only slightly...Keep in mind you can always Overclock an get a lot more performance out of the cpu even at stock voltages...and no it doesn't really hurt it...I've been overclocking the same CPU for 5 years now...LOL
Example: At stock voltage of 1.5v...and stable. (Idles at 70 & fullblast gameplay at 115 degrees with stock heatsink)
P4 2.4GHz overclocked to 2..67GHz.
The E6400 can be overclocked as high as 3.6GHz! and use 1066mhz ram...Very Fast FSB speeds...

2.13 ghz if faster than 1.9, undoubtedly.

make sure the 1.9 isnt a dual core or duo core.
also, AMD processors run faster than the posted speed, rather than Pentium, runs AT the posted speed.
