You will get plentiful of useless and useful (both) information from various sources including websites.
But for genuine information do log on to www.bseindia.com and nseindia.com for all the authentic information on all companies as well as various aspects of stock-investments.
Log on to www.icicidirect.com. It has got a separate section for new investors (learning centre). Read it carefully.
Try reading a lot on the subject. Various books are available- particularly from vision books. Subscribe to economic times and occasionally read business line or financial express.
Try interacting with informed people a lot and pickup useful informations from the discussions.
But do not depend on any TIPS, at any time.
