The meaning of life is different from person to person. One may dedicate his/her's life to his/her's family/spouse/career/religion. Others may decide to keep searching for their purpose and eventually end up with nothing. Some may precieve life as a journey with a reachable goal and to some its just a series of moments strung together by fate.
Whatever yours is, it wouldn't change even if you find the answer to that question.
note: Don't watch The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy for that answer, it'll only confuse you.

80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.
I've come to two conclusions recently:
1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.
First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.
Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.
So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.
To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable.....

God created us to know him, love him and be happy with him in the next life. How do we go about doing that?
When God made us, he implanted within us a burning desire for his will. Knowing his will and following it will give meaning to our life. This implies that it is our responsibility to give meaning to our life. Our task then is to find out his will for us.
God's plan for our lives is etched in our desires. To discover God's plan we need to have a personal relationship with him. But because he gave us free will, he will not tell us to be a doctor, an engineer or priest. That's up to us. That means we have to pray and reflect on it a bit. Maybe even ask other people to help us discern it. No big deal, really.
All of us have received gifts from God. Our primary gift or best gift is an indication of God's plan for us. We will find in it the handwriting of God. It will point to our life project, our assigned purpose, our God ordained mission. It will also point to our happiness.
Peace and every blessing!

Life of this world is nothing but a "GAME AND ENTERTAINMENT".
You must spend it as much "thankfully to Allah" (The God) as you can.
Life of the Great Beyond(Hereafter) is the REAL life. If you want Paradise you have to be thankful to Allah. Otherwise you go to Hell, I'm afraid.
Start trying to read Koran. Because it is the greatest hint that human is given; about God, prophets, last prophet, life, one's self, future, games and the Reality.

to find out if it life can be created by humans and to find out if humans can build a planet . also to preserve life and build a device that can be carried in back pack or create life with it and larger life giving longrange equipment. if life is not used to create more life it is meaningless. the meaning of life is to create life . to find out how to make gravity assemble the materiel for a planet even find out how to build a universe or just that idea gives it meaning

If you are spiritual or religious, it is to love God, love yourself, and to love others.
If you are not, it is just endless repetition.
