The book first written by Homer is the Illiad then followed by Odyssey. The Iliad, set during the Trojan War, tells the story of the wrath of Achilles; The Odyssey tells the story of Odysseus as he travels home from the war. The two epics provided the basis of Greek education and culture in the Classical age, and they have remained among the most significant poems of the European tradition.

The Iliad because the Iliad tells about the Trojan war and how the Greeks overcame the Trojans. The Odyssey is about a general coming home from the war and his many adventures

It is generally accepted that the Iliad was written first by Homer around 800-600BC. What is unclear is if the Odyssey was written shortly thereafter or if it was in fact written by someone else due to the differences in writing style.

From Wikapedia it says... The Odyssey (Greek Οδύσσεια (Odússeia) ) is one of the two major ancient Greek epic poems attributed to the Ionian poet Homer. The poem is commonly dated circa 800 to 600 BC. The poem is, in part, a sequel to Homer's Iliad and mainly centers on the Greek hero Odysseus (or Ulysses in Latin) and his long journey home to Ithaca, following the fall of Troy.

Technically the Illiad, as it tells the story of the Trojan War, where as the Odyssey is the story of Odysseus' return from the Trojan War.

the modern bible that you read today is only a fraction and combination of what the original bible was written as. many many years ago people got together and looked over the bible and literally edited it. they took out chapters, and even a few books. they combined a few of them to get the word across, and this is what you get from the modern world-->mistake. the biblehas no mistakes it, we just mixed it all around from what it was originally so that created "mistakes". not mistakes in the actual text, just facts that WE put together, not God.
