Just a movie, no real science behind it. Pretty much can't happen.

But the reality is just as scary. Coastal flooding, damage to agriculture. Rich countries go broke, poor countries starve.

Good newspaper article.

It won't be a disaster movie, it will happen slowly. But, if we do nothing, it will be the worst disaster in history.

This movie was way over board in trying to show us the "catastrophic" effects of global warming. This stuff wouldn't happen even if it was considered a worse case scenario, because it it way too far-fetched. Ask any reputable scientist, even the scare-mongering hippy ones, even they might have a little chuckle.

As for the reality of climate change, the sun should return back to it's normal cycle in about 50-100 years, (As it is in a high cycle of energy at the moment, precipitating all this wild weather) and the Earth should return back to what our generation would describe as "normal."

The film, "The Day After Tomorrow" is an over-the-top dramatization of Global Warming at its "Hollywoodist". Nobody yet knows EXACTLY HOW G.W. is going to pan out. I believe that the "effects" are ALREADY underway, but are NOT yet pronounced enough to be noticeable by most people. THAT should change- in the next 10 to 15 years, as the situation (G.W.) worsens. The primary effects of G.W.- will be "Bigger, and Worse". -You name it. For example; Bigger heatwaves & Worse tornado outbreaks. Bigger Hurricanes & Worse floods. Bigger rainstorms & Worse droughts. Get the idea? And how it AFFECTS people- will depend on which of these disasters they're under- & how they cope with them (See what happend with Katrina...-for example). And REMEMBER; these things will get progressively WORSE over time- until we learn to stop pouring more & more "effluent" into our atmosphere... :(
