i need a lot of help cuz i procrastinated and now its 10:48 and i need my homework done. ouch. and i have to give an oral presentation about it, so dont go to hard on me and please help me all you can. thanks. a good website on this specific topic would be splendid.

The main reason clock prices would have gone down in the early 1800s is because people stopped making them all by hand. That's the time period that machine manufacturing gradually replaced the economy of manual labor. Do a Google search on "Industrial Revolution."

Here's a really good website on the history of clocks. In addition to other information, it says:

"In the early 1800’s, one of the most important events in clock making occurred. Eli Terry developed machines, patterns, and techniques that produced clock parts that were exactly alike, so they could be mass-produced and interchanged from one clock to another. This drove the price of clocks way down, and allowed common people to own at least one, if not many, timekeeping devices."
