The Dog is a german shepard or somthing simliar the date is from 1989 to 1995. that kind of time frame i am not sure but i think it was based in CA

If the person the dog saves her from is a rapist, and the police won't help her, then it's a Lifetime movie, and it's probably called "A Best Friend's Courage: The Story of Sparky Oleskiewicz."
