We just got a new computer. It is a compaq and the printer we were previously using was a compaq. I hooked up the printer to the new computer and then put the cd that came with the printer in the computer. It installed the printer and it pops up under the printers window box but when I go to print something I get an error in the printing properties box. Any ideas?

now you need to go to conrol panel and click on add new hardware,, and let windows find the driver for your printer
If you had your printer plunged into the computer and switched on at the time you installed the software then it will not find the printer
you need to unplug the printer switch off the computer, re boot it when windows is running then plug in the printer or switch it on .... it should come up found new hardware (your printer)
read your printer manual it will tell you how to install the printer.... If you have not got a printer manual then go to Compaq website and click on printers find your printer and download the manual
