I did hate them, but I got over it. I ask them to pack them fuller (but your right--not too heavy or they break). I reuse the ones I can and recycle the ones I can't. Also, I don't let them bag large things that can be carried without a bag. We can't control the world, but we can do our part to help just a little.

In eire there's a 15c (think of long previous as much as 20c) tax on each and each plastic bag offered, so each and all of the purchasers, in much less then a week of the tax popping out, offered reusable procuring luggage for existence, and we does no longer be with out them now. and garments shops supply paper luggage with their names printed on them Plastic luggage takes 100s of years to decompose back into the ambience, so if different counties do no longer convey some thing comparable in there will be extensive rubbish dumps packed with plastic for the subsequent 500 years, i ponder whether tesco would be extremely joyful with the promoting!!! another be conscious with regard to the tax is eire has a inhabitants of 4m+ and the government made €8m from this tax on my own, apartently single adult males on course someplace to %. up one or 2 products are people who get caught out the main.

I detest plastic bags as well. You'd think in 2007, all plastic bags would be banned and all stores started selling cloth bags!!
I've been using cloth bags for years. I also have thick plastic bags that are reusable and I've had them 5 years.
Most people are just lazy. It's more convenient rather than coming in and carrying their own.

I can't have them when I go get things from the Grocery Store -- because I have Arthritis in my hands (and they really, really HURT to hold them and take the stuff into the home). So for me .. the Paper Bags are the best.

Yeah, but you"ve gotta remember who has the controlling interest in "PLASTIC WHITE SHOPPING BAGS". It's the person that looks like one, behave's like one and controls(your life) like one. He's white, plastic and a danger to children and owns a huge percentage of PBINT.(plasticbagsinternational). The KING OF POP

Nope, I use a canvas shopping bag when ever possible, or a canvas military hold all for my grocery's if I can. When I do get plastic bags I use them as garbage bags.

I think they have some wonderful uses, but are not handled in the correct way. That's how they get out into the environment, where they do not belong, thereby irritating you. I can see why you hate them. They don't belong in trees.
I would miss them if they were gone, but I would adjust. If it were really better for the environment, I would wish them away today.

Don't you have anything better to do with your life than share your animosity towards plastic shopping bags?
If you truly have such great resentment towards plastic shopping bags, then encourage the nation to boycott them. Doubt you will get many people to join ranks with you.
