Anyone know if a Captain America film is in the works? I know there have been serials, cruddy 70's t.v. specials, and the Albert Pyun adaptation...But I read somewhere that it was in the works, with an interest by Tom Cruise, for the lead.

Captain America is DEAD.
No but seriously, they should have made a movie a couple of years after 9/11 when patriotism was at an all time high.

...the idea IS being toyed with, as we speak; no screenplay has been finalized yet, nor has there been any casting developments. Time WILL tell, for ol' Cap!!!
Tom Cruise had originally expressed deep interest in doing the 'Iron Man' movie, but bowed out, and the role was ultimately passed onto Robert Downey, Jr. (an ironic choice, as Tony Stark is a rich, playboy industrialist, with a penchance toward alcoholoism...and well, Robert Downey Jr. is, well, Robert Downey, Jr.!!!)

apparently, there is a captain america film in the works. it has a tenative release dat of sometime in 2009. as yet, no other announcements have been made.

Marvel is developing a Captain America project, and Paramount is on board to distribute it, but there is nothing concrete yet as far as production goes...

Well there is a spot for it on the international movie data base. And since it's on the "in production" stage it means they may not have even started filming yet.

I have heard it's either in pre-production or beginning to be filmed. Not sure who is set to star in it.

not sure, but Iron Man coming out in february of 2008, so he can't be far behind
