I'm new to World of Warcraft. I am deciding between the Tauren and the Undead - I don't know which one I want. For the Undead/Forsaken, I am debating the rogue. However, are they difficult to level up? For Tauren, I have no clue which class I want. I heard the Druid is extremely difficult to master. Basically, I want a class that is good for solo playing (group is fine too, though) and isn't too difficult to master. Thanks!

Ok, woah, back up.
First, before you choose the race, make absolutely sure on what class. Ill go through a brief runthough of the classes.

Warrior: A bit hard at leveling, seeing as you have no healing or escape abilities. You will most likely tank with groups, meaning you hold the monsters while others do the damage.

Rogue: Damage dealer. You can stealth (cant see you). Easy leveling. Youll be doing damage in groups.

Warlock: My personal favorite. Warlocks are largely self-sufficent. They also get a pet. Very easy leveling. Youll be excellent at soloing, and youll be doing damage in groups.

Druid: The jack of all trades class. Any type of druid is good at leveling, but the over or understatement of this varies. Depending on what type of druid you are, you can be healing, tanking, or doing damage for your group.

Priest: Depends on what type you are. Anything but shadow priests are hard to solo. Shadow are moderate to easy soloists. Hard leveling. Youll most likely be healing in groups.

Shaman: Depending, moderate to easy leveling, based on what type of shaman you are. You can be healing or doing damage in your group. Again, soloing depending on type.

Paladin: Excellent soloers. Another jack of all trades class. You can be tanking, healing, or damaging for your group, although most players are biased pn paladins ability to do damage.

Hunter: Very easy soloing, because you get a pet. Poor damage in instances, since most groups wont want you to use your pet.

Mage: Depending on type, moderate to easy leveling. Mages are high damage dealers, ans specialize in both high damage single hit spells and area of affect spells (hit multiple targets with 1 spell). Youll be doing damage in groups.

Ok. Now. Your race is based off these, because each race has a different set of racial abilities. Undead are good all around, due to Cannibalism (eat humanoids and undead to restore health) and Will of the Forsaken (become immune to certain spells for a short duration) and they get more intellect than other classes (mana). Tauren get more health than other classes, and they also get a small stun spell, good for escaping, or casting a healing spell without being interrupted. Because of this, they make both excellent healers and excellent tanking classes.

It is largely your choice, and which you prefer, but if youre going for efficency, Id go undead, because their racials benefit any class.

But still, dont rule out the other races. Trolls get berserking (faster attacking and casting speed for a duration) and health regeneration.
Orcs get bloodfury (higher damage for a duration), stun resist, and increased pet damage.
Blood Elves get a mana drain and an interrupt spell.

Alliance, you have Humans, Night Elves, Gnomes, Dwarves and Draenei.

Humans get perception (easier to see stealth units), reputation increases, and easier to use swords and maces.
Night Elves get shadowmeld (stealth, but you cant move), and wisp form (move faster in ghost form).
Dwarves get treasure finding, stoneform (increased armor, immune to poison and bleed for a duration) and easier to use guns.
Gnomes get increased intellect, and the ability to get out of rooting spells (where you cant move).
Draenei get an excellent heal spell that doesnt cost anything, and a +1% to hit chance that affects your entire group.

Each class does better with different races. Listen, personally, Ive started over countless times cause It took forever to find the combo I wanted. Think hard on this, as it will determine your entire WoW experience. If you ever play on server Andorhal, alliance side, talk to Daxz. Thats my character, and Id be glad to help you out and point you in the right direction, but if you still wanna play horde, I wish you luck, and good fortune.

Laterz.

A Tauren Warrior is definitely the easiest to level up. A warrior has mail initially available hence giving you a tremendous amount of armor early on. It learns dual wield early, giving you great DPS. Plus the tauren has a 5% health bonus as their racial trait. You'll just breeze by most of the things that get in your way. If you're looking for survivability, pick a Tauren Warrior. Although if you're looking for thrill, and excitement, great choices would be a hunter, a warlock, a shaman, or druid. With a hunter and warlock, you can have a pet, as you may already know, therefore granting you a tank while you deal major DPS with spells/arrows from far away. It's especially fun with a hunter since you can tame new, and not to mention cooler pets as you progress through the areas of the game. With a shaman, you are granted such versatility, given its three totally different playing styles with its three diverse talent trees. If you feel like having a brawl with monsters, you can follow the Enhancement Talent Tree and have access to major melee DPS at an extremely fast rate. If you're the spell casting sort of fellow, you can follow the Elemental Talent Tree and blow by your enemies with burst range damage via the thunder, fire, nature and all the other elements the shaman can conjure up spells with. Of course, if you don't like dying and you want to be a key factor in raid groups, there's the Restoration Talent Tree. Following this tree will grant you the power to heal, resurrect, heal, heal, heal, heal, and heal. You will not die. And now, the druid. It is, hands down, the most versatile class in the game, more so than the shaman. You have the ability to transform into various creatures at will to suit your need. There's the Bear Form, the Druid's equivalent of a warrior as it can deal and sustain major damage. The Cat Form gives you access to the play style of a rouge, hiding in the shadows, popping out behind your enemy, and dealing major DPS so fast that your foes will not have a chance to retaliate. The Flight Form is a supremely quick way of getting from one place to another. There's the Moonkin Form granting you a spell caster build. And the Tree Form making accessible healing for you and the party. The druid is a warrior, a shaman, a mage, a rogue, and a priest all rolled into one. So which should you pick? It's all up to you.:)

There is one class that reigns above all others for people who want to play solo...that is the hunter. Tauren can be hunters, while Undead cannot.

The great thing about WoW is that you can have 8 characters per server. This way you can try out each class a little bit and see what you like. Just remember that each class gets better as you level up and learn more skills.

Horde FTW!

Lets start this off by class...Rouges are pretty eas to lvl up ..but almost every class/combo has some advantage when it comes to lvling in general. (with some exceptions like Holy Priest)

Druid is very hard to do well but it is by far one of the most fun classes.

I would rank them this way.

Easy-Warrior, Rouge, Mage

Medium-Warlock, Hunter, Paladin, Priest (shadow), shammans

Hard-Druid ,Priest (holy)

some would argue Im sure but as you will see the game is about choices and plaing it how ever you want.

If you want rouge you will have to go Undead and if u want warrior u will go Tauren....some say tauren warrior is the way to go for the extra health and many love UD rouges for the resist.

Just chose something and see how you like it...keep in mind it will take some time for you to get a feel for what kind of player you ae...all out OFFENCE...kill kill kill(ROUGE MAGE)..or if you value surviveability(WARRIOR, PALLADIN PRIESTS) or if your a "bag of tricks" kind of player..(WARLOCK, DRUID, HUNTER, SHAMMAN)

any way good luck.,

the 2 easiest classes 2 solo are rogues and hunters. However, they are both very overpopulated on servers because of this. you'll find problems getting groups at higher levels.

My suggestion would be Shaman or Mage. Shamans are buggers when it comes to trying to kill them on my main. Frost mages can solo easier when the unit is not immune to frost attacks.

I'm currently trying to get a holy priest to 60, and hes already about to ding 41, it is not hard but you will be dictated by the talent of your group.

Easiest 4 imo
Rogue
Hunter
Shaman
Mage

first off pick what is most important to you ,the Look of your toon ( race vs class),or the abilities you want your toon to have (class vs race) .
combat based classes vs spell based classes , the warrior types are always gonna be easier the spell casters second and those that combine both spells and combat skills are gonna be in my mind mor difficult ( paladins are a bit in the butt)
if you have the time the first like 10 levels run thru quick enough
maybe a days worth of time on the comp( be sure and take breaks and stretch your legs )
take as many quests as you can( you get XP for the kills on the quest as well as for completion of most of them0
thats my best suggestions for ya buddy

For solo play, I would suggest either a Warlock or Hunter. With those classes you get either a minion or a pet that can help you out.
