Nooo! Always return what you borrow. If you break or lose it, buy them a new one. It just the right thing to do.

no. I don't have that many friends so I don't want to be owing someone something I could buy myself.
I do borrow from my sisters, but the items never leave the house so it's not the same really: It's more like sharing.
I am very conscientious about things of this sort, so I would replace anything I borrowed if it broke, or return it as soon as possible after borrowing. I do this with pens at work. They are right back on whomever's desk as soon as I am done writing what I needed it for. (no, I don't have a desk, it's not an office job, but sometimes I need to write a note and don't have a pen)

I did lend a tape and made a guy pay me years ago. He lost my cassette at his friend's house and it never came back to me so he owed me the money or a new tape.

I have before, but the person moved away. D:
My friend loaned me her copy of Final Fantasy VII for the PS1 and then she moved away! I didn't get a chance to return it. I still feel guilty to this day.
If I find something on the street that is valuable, I just keep it.
If it were the case of a wallet, I'd take the cash and make sure all cards and such were returned to proper owner.

I always return, but I hate it when in class someone asks to "borrow" a sheet of paper, oh come on, I'm never getting that back, just ask if you can have it. Lol.

I borrow once in awhile, but I return it and if I don't return it, that's maybe because it is either lost or broken.

I don't ever borrow from anyone, because then that means that you owe them something... and that is not good. They could even use it against you in a future argument.

No, but one of my friends DID borrow a dress while we were on vacation and took it back home with her - that means she had to knowingly pack it! AAGGGHH - I will never let anyone borrow anything again!
