I can flex the muscles in my brain, and when i do it, its like i feel energy moving around inside my head, and i can hear it too, kind of like putting your ear to a seashell except its already inside my head and not coming through my ear. If i concentrate a certain way, i feel a short tingling sensation go down my entire body. I have always wondered if this is normal, i can't find anything on google. I hope im not damaging brain cells when i do this. Also, if i continue to flex it for a while, it becomes hard and eventually i cant do it anymore, just like a regular muscle.

No I do not do drugs you dick. But I seriously am flexing something in the area of my brain. I can do it at will. It does not feel like my scalp like someone had mentioned, but is it possible to flex your scalp? I am curious and might look into having a hospital scan my head or something while im doing it to see if there are any changes. It could be something groundbreaking.

Thank you knowledgeablePT, I think your answer might be valid. I looked it up and it sounds like it might be that. If it is, than I should stop doing it, because it says if you make it go too high it can cause permanent brain damage....

Look... if this was really happening in your brain, you would never know. You don't have any receptors for pain or touch inside your skull... nor is there usually any reason to.
Take brain surgery. This is often perfromed with just a local anaesthetic and the patient completely awake. Once they drill through your skulll, nothing they do ever causes any kind of sensation that can be felt by the patient. Frontal lobotomies used to be done in a doctor's office in ten minutes. Plenty of nerves in there... just none for touch.
Or there's also headaches. We've all had a headache and it FEELS like it's coming from inside your head, but it's just not. It's usually muscle tension in various parts of the head or neck, or at worst a brain that is interpreting normal stimuli as painful. This last point is worth considering too - your brain shares a certain amount of nerves for different tasks, which is why one kind of injury sometimes feels like an entirely different one. The shooting pain in your left arm that you get from a heart attack is caused by just this (your arm is, of course, just fine).
Bottom line: whatever you are doing and feeling, it is NOT in your brain itself. Adults with hydrocephalus have had their entire brain squished to an inch-thick layer inside their skull and had almost no symptoms at all. It is quite likely that you are doing something with the many, many muscles in your skin, face, scalp, or neck and it FEELS like its in your brain. And it may even still be unhealthy. But it's not your brain.

Hey! I know this post is really old and probably anyone is gonna see this but I tried to find answers, or even contact someone who can do the same, and this post seems to be the only place on the internet related to this subject...
So here is the deal... you guys put into words EXACLY what i can do my whole life... you know, all the brain flex thing. I have never wondered what could it be since a year ago and have never told anyone about it, but then i got curious and decided to look it up. Then, I found this post, about 7 years ago, describing everything, just like it feels, all the parts about flexing certain areas and moving it around the head, describing something that even I couldn't have done, and i'm from FREAKING BRAZIL!! i mean, to know that there are people from the other side of the world doing what I thought to be the only one to do it, thus I don't think we're imagining things. Really creepy.
It's funny cause I searched really deep about it and found nothing but some other dudes asking what it is...
So... what it is? is it some kind of disease and I'm causing any damage to my brain? Cause afterall, it feels good to "practice".
I'd like to know what it is, maybe contact someone who can do the same, cause I got a lot of questions, and none solid answers.
It's good to know that i'm not alone...
PS: sorry for the english, not a native language :X

You’re not alone. I too can do exactly the same thing. I know that I am not actually flexing my brain, because there are no muscles to flex; however it is truly the only way I know how to describe the feeling. I noticed that I can do this when I was about 11 or 12. When I asked my brother if he could do the same, I got similar answers that you got in this forum. I kept it to myself from then on, but never stopped practicing, and remained curious as to what was going on. Last year I finally shared this ability with a friend of mine that is also a bit different.
I am now thirty and have become very capable of controlling this feeling in different areas in my brain (and body). It is exactly like you describe it. I can send waves of energy from points in my brain to any particular part of my body I want. It feels similar to when “chills run down your spine” only it is magnified and more intense and 100% intentional. The more I practiced, the longer I could hold the “flex”.
I find meditation to be a great tool in focusing this energy, and understanding it better. Try bringing the energy to the front of your forehead, centered just above your eyes.
You won’t find your answers looking outward into the world.
People are different, and to think that science knows everything would be ignorant thinking. Take a look at this video of a woman can see and taste sounds. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s7T335GkMpY
I know this question was asked 7 years ago, but I would be interested to hear back from you.

They are still discovering things about the human body, and the brain. This fascinates me, is this a muscle based switching mechanism in the pons or somewhere similar? I get sensations of manipulation in a line above the top of the spine. It is unhelpful and limiting to describe the new in terms of what is already known. First comes postulation and experimentation, the hypothesis and later possibly proof. They have only recently discovered that one of the sets of the occipital muscles at the axis level of the spine attach into the dura matter of the spine. We didn't know this as a fact ten years ago.... The occipitals have a relationship to the eyes...the eyes a relationship to the function of the psyche. REM therapy has become widely practiced and accepted as an effective treatment for some sufferers of Post Tramatic Stress disorder. I know what you guys are describing is different, but I'm using it as an example to illustrate that sometimes the explanation comes after the discovery.... Keep flexing guys!!! I love these posts...and don't let incomplete science shut the window to significant new discoveries...heaven knows we need all the understanding of the working of the human brain we can muster.

I too have the feeling that I can control the energy in my brain. It is extremely distracting. Sometimes I try to control it and sometimes I just go with the flow. I know i'm not flexing my brain but I understand why you described it like that. I also get the tingling sensation sometimes. I like to send the energy to areas I feel are underutilized. I also feel like my behavior, like the way my voice sounds and or the way i walk, changes depending on the area I am focusing on. I recently began to meditate as a way to be more in tune with it. Anyway, I might be going crazy, but it's good to know I am not the only one that is having a similar experience.

I also can do this and have wondered my whole life what it means and how I can use it. For me it is not just a 'flex' in my brain but a flex I can do in isolation on any part of my body. It gives my the same tingling sensation and ringing in my ears and becomes harder to sustain over time. Its like focusing energy currents in my body but I really don't know. Ive always wanted to walk into a science lab and have someone hook me up to as many types of readers and monitors possible to see what the hell this is but I don't know where to start. So far I have found no use for it. If you can find more resources please share them.

look, i came across this and i had to say something,
There is a reason why you feel an hear energy in your body and you can control these sensations through out your body.
This is how you can control your chakra with in your own, as you said " If i concentrate a certain way, i feel a short tingling sensation go down my entire body" This is the same as meditation and controling energy. This is good you have found this technique, its hard to figure out unless you stumble upon it.
Im still figuring out the anatomy and trying to discover how this works exactly but i do know the all the answers but there is something to find
There are many sources to go to and trying to figure it out for yourself but here is just a stepping stone and a long journey ahead

Hey guys! I wonder if there is any news on this? I've been doing the exact same thing you've all mentioned for a while, i just turned 30, and I'm starting to think I'm onto something. It feels like I'm Goku powering up. Lol. Hard to explain. But like one of you mentioned, I bring the energy between and above my eyebrows, and I'm centering myself at the same time. I feel the same thing from my naval chakra as well. It's like a magnetic pull, yin and yang. It's concentrated energy, but I don't know what to do with it. We should start our own research group. Haha.
