...your guess is as good as mine!!!!

Initially, "Buckaroo Banzai" did not grab the audience as much as 20th Century Fox had hoped (I think most people were over in the other theatre, watching "Amadeus", which was out at around that time); the idea for "World Crime League" supposedly is still out there, but no one seems willing to pick it up.

On the special edition DVD of "BB", the commentary DID hint about the possibility of continuing the adventures of our intrepid, multi-talented, globe-trotting alien fighter, and his band of eclectic fellow warriors, on the T.V. circuit. But even that never really materialized (if you scour the web, you will stumble upon several sites exclusively developed to petition interest in furthering the adventures of "Buckaroo Banzai".....I, myself, have signed on to a couple).

On a side note, "Buckaroo Banzai" one of three films from the eighties, that concluded with promise of further adventures and follow-ups; does anyone remember the announcement of "Doctor Detroit II: The Wrath of Mom"??? How about "Tales of the Ancient Empire", the follow-up to the mystical, action-packed film "The Sword and the Sorcerer".

Let's all write to these studios, and demand that they get these movies made, dang-it!!!!!

Sadly, never made.

There was an entertaining script that was written by a writer back in the 1990s as a sequel... it even had an appeareance by Jack Burton from Big Trouble in Little China and you find out he is a Blue Blaze Irregular. I believe at the end Buckaroo finds out that Peggy had been alive all along and is reunited with her. The writer put his script out on the internet, but apparently he pulled it at some point (was looking to put the link here).

The writer of BB the movie is doing a comic book series that takes place after the movie... is published by Moonstone Comics. I haven't read any of them yet.

If you haven't yet, find a copy of the novelisation of the BB movie (they reprinted it I think when they released the dvd). It's a very interesting read and you get a lot more backstory concerning Xan (the leader of the World Crime League), the other Cavaliers... and an neat little twist at the end that didn't bode well for the perfect happy ending we saw in the movie.

Was that a series? I used to love the Buckaroo Bonzai movie. "The Adventures of Buckaroo Bonzai Across the Eight Dimension" was the name of that one.

I LOVED Buckaroo Banzai! That movie was one of the best! But sadly, nothing ever came of the sequel.
