Germany landlocked?? Ooooooo kkkkkkkk, check a map! Ever heard of a port city named Bremen? No Poland was NOT a part of Germany that was lost after WWI.Poland was an independent country that was conquered by Germany, and the treaty of Versailles restored Poland to it's independent status after WWI.One problem,at least in German eyes was that the establishment of a Polish state cut the land ties between Germany and E. Prussia. It also cost Germany the city of Danzig, which was set up as a free city under supervision of the league of nations after WWI. It is also highly unlikely that Hitler would have chanced the invasion without having an agreement with Stalin,a secret portion of that agreement was that Germany, and Russia would partition Poland out of existence once again.

question: One of Hitler's justifications for invading Poland was TO TAKE OVER THIS AREA?

the question isn't asking whether or not he was crazy. yes, hitler did cite a border incident as the reason he invaded poland, but the poster is asking which AREA he used to justify his invasion.

the former area of prussia, which germany lost after ww I to poland so poland could have a seaport (the polish corridor). most the population was german and the seaport in this polish region was mainly german.

His country needed elbow room and this part of Poland was part of Germany before WWI and he desired a seaport because Germany was landlocked and he desired Gdansk in Poland.

Ok, Hitler was a really really really crazy guy, and all he wanted to do is make the world like Germany. Like one big state of Germany. He wanted to make Poland Germany. He sent Nazis to Argentina to make it Germany. The reason he invaded any area was to make it German. To kill all the non-Arians and make everything German.
