I have Epson Stylus cx6400. Since the ink is so expensive I stared using compatible third party cartridges, but every time I try to print something I get the following message:
"The installed ink cartridges differ from the original Epson ink cartridges for this printer. Your printouts may be different from those printed using original Epson ink cartridges. Do you want to continue using the currently installed ink cartridges?" YES or NO
Does anybody know how to turn it off, it is really annoying and I have to sit there and press YES every time. I try looking into the registry editor but to no avail. Any help appreciated.

I have four working printers. I use brand name ink until the printer is out of warranty, then go for generics. You will get the warning. Just forge ahead and install the generics. The manufacturer just wants you to know that if your printer fails in any way after you used generic ink, they will not be responsible.

It seems to me that the printers are like throwaways. I picked up two PSC for $50, new, with cartridges. At this price, when the printers fail I won't feel so bad.

You cannot stop the message that I know of. Ignore it. Once the new cartridges get going, the message will go away.

if you use cheap ink you will pay the price. your printer will fail within 1 year and your photos will last 1 to 4 years(with original ink 70 years plus). original epsons can be bought online for £5 per cartridge so do your printer a favour give it the good stuff
