Spooky Lamp?

Question

ok heres the thing my parents have this lamp (it's a touch lamp) in the lounge room with a picture of my grandparents (deceased) next to the lamp and at least once a day the lamp will turn on by itself is this a technical problem or supernatrule?

it even happens in front of my eyes. ok i'll give you a set out the words will represent the object

Depends on if you believe in that or not.

If you're looking for technical possibilities, sometimes touch lamps develop transient shorts from unstable surfaces, surfaces with high conductive properties, high humidity and occasionally I've heard of them turning on with breezes (although I think it comes from having high particulate counts in the air).

Something to try if you're up for it is to take a look at what surface it's on and consider the environment around the lamp. It's quite likely it's something in the room triggering it.

At the same time, I've heard of a number of cases where there wasn't any clear explanation for a touch lamp turning on on its own.

Sounds like a technical problem. If the lamp is sitting on a side table or near a chair, all someone would have to do is sit in the chair and it could bump the table enough for it to turn it on. Or, is their a cat in the house that could bump against it? Actually, some of those touch lamps are so sensitive that a descent wind could turn them on and off, making them flicker.

If you're concerned about a spirit of some type haunting your lamp, because it's near your grandparent's picture, just move either the lamp or the photo and see if it still happens.

I would it could very well be both.

If you, your parents, or maybe all of you had a good strong connection between you all, then there is a strong possibility that they could be there, just watching over you. Spirits sometimes like to let people know they are present. So that could be your grandparents trying to tell you that they are at your house and that they are fine.

Now it could be an electrical problem, if it's an old lamp, it could have a shortage, but I think it's your grandparents. ^_^

It's probably a short. I had the same problem in my old house with my touch lamp. Since I moved no problems. But then again I think my old house was haunted.

Sounds like the lamp needs re-wiring, or very sensitive to vibrations when someone walks near it, and the vibrations cause it to jiggle just enough to come on...
