Zebra's aren't blind, but as Ecolink said, lions are colorblind which is useful since it is one of the zebra's main predators and the pattern of the zebra's stripes is more crucial than color for the zebra to blend with its background.

I have read that zebras are not colorblind, but that lions are.

the only animals (besides us) that see colors are primates.
