The best past time, would be get involve with toddles... nurture them, and see them grow... with occasional suprises of intellectual development....
Bonding with the toddles also means boding with families.. This will create an ever lasting love for the couple and set a good example for t he toddles as they grow and emulat ethe parents..
Great satisfaction derives from the joy of toddles and your partner... doing things together even a simplest task is a GREAT PAST Time....
take care..

If you can't afford to go out or a babysitter have a night or 2 in the week when the kids are in bed & bring out old pictures or play music & dance. Lay in each other's arms & talk about when you were younger. Sometimes I'd make a picnic lunch & we'd eat on a table cloth on the floor. Don't let the romance stop because of the children. It was love that created them & you need to keep that love strong. Not just for yourself but for the kids.
Hubby & I like to play cards & board games like we're in a serious competition, teasing & jabbing each other on.
Sometimes we'd just go outside on the porch & he'd put his arms around me & we'd discuss the day or sometimes nothing at all, just enjoy the sky.
In the summer when it was hot we'd go for a long drive at night exploring areas we'd never seen. The kids would be out like a light in no time.
We'd take the kids to the park in the toddler section & go sit down on a bench together. You'd be surprised how much toddlers can entertain themselves if left alone to play. Just keep an eye on them.
Mine also liked bowling. It was fairly cheap. Even though most balls went into the gutters they still enjoyed it.
Church activities are fun too because most of the time there are other adults supervising the younger ones.
It's also fun to take young children on walks. They see & find things adults don't think about. It gives you a chance to tell them your knowledge or share your own childhood.
My son loved semis so we'd go to a main street & when one passed taught him how to blow a fake air horn with his hands. When the semi drivers would respond by honking, it tickled him to no end.
There are alot of things you can do that don't cost much. You just have to be a little creative.

It is nice when you have friends that also have kids. You can let the kids play and visit with your friends. When the kids get tired put a video on for them to watch and give them each a pallet on the floor. When they get quiet play a game of cards or a board game with the other couple. If there are any parks in your area gather the kids and go to the park together or even a zoo is fun. If there is a drive-in theatre where you live ride the kids around a while in the car till they fall asleep, go to the show.

NOTHING!! LOL
Naw, seriously.....we like picnics or BBQ w/ friends and family. Movies once in a while. We like to try to find how much we can do for free or for little $$. It's like a game. One day we had a picnic w/ our kids and two dogs on top of an observation tower. SOO COOL!! Then we hiked. After that we went in the nearby town which is known for all it's shops and is beautifully historic. We got ice cream @ an old fashioned ice cream place and then visited the city park to let the youngest play. I managed to see one shop that had really great local art! So all told we have probably $5 in gas $3 for the kids two scoops of ice cream and later I let the youngest go to the dollar store where everything is only a dollar. $9.00 for what my youngest called "The best day ever!"
LOL
You just need to get online and find stuff to do and you can have the "best day ever" too.

First I must ask, what is a toddle, I never saw one, lol, just kidding. You make 3 years sound like so long? When the kid is in bed, you can still have your action. If you must stay home, play strip poker, play card games, watch dvd's, snuggle with a bowl of popcorn, read a sexy romance novel to him, bathe together, the list is endless.

I remember meeting other similar parents at T ball. That starts at 3 for boys or girls. Bowling is good cause they fall asleep or their howling doesn't bother others. Please install date night on Saturdays==make it happen. Adults need play relief. My husband was a runner, I always enjoyed the gathering to watch 5ks or 10ks. Lots of kids, strollers.

go for a walk, to the park,to the zoo=our fave, play games, we have a game that helps you stay in touch w. each other when the kids are not around. we have 20 ? about each other how ever many you miss you have to do that many things for the other one, whether it be rubbing backs, sex, or chores whatever you feel like them doing! it sounds stupid but it really is fun

My husband and I play darts in the basement when the kids go to bed. I don't have fun, but it makes him happy. Or as a family we draw on the sidewalk on the nice days. We have small kids too and they love that.
