Do you think Christina stole some of britneys glory?

Britney came first, then Xtina who followed hotly in the path britney herself laid down. Xtina had an amazing voice that few can top. Do you think she made Britney look untalented and possibly even tarnished her image?

No I believe what separates the two are their distinctive voices....Christina Aguilera is a "belter"
and is a VERY strong singer......which is why many Award ceremonies pick her to sing tribute songs to the Honoree of the night....whereas Britney's voice is more of an entertainer (think of the likes of Janet Jackson or Jennifer Lopez.....great dancers but not so strong vocally speaking)....

And Britney tarnished her own image....from the chain smoking to the 55 hour marriage to french-kissing Madonna to stealing Kevin Federline from his 7 months pregnant girlfriend to marrying him so quick to walking around public bathrooms bare foot to driving with her baby in her lap to shaving her head to her going into rehab.....need I go on???......Britney definitely needs an image clean-up and she tarnished it herself.....nothing had to do with Christina...if you compare them Christina has more grammys than Britney.....and the most scandalous thing Chrstina has done was when she changed her image to X-Tina.....but she grew up out of that phase......Britney on the other hand is just gonna need some time to get back to where she was....I don't dislike her at all...but I do hope that she one day regains all the accolades that she once had

Christina has the voice and raw talent which appeals to the adult market more so than Britney, but Britney has (or is that, had) a huge following amongst the younger market, so I don't think it did her any harm really; a world-reknowned artist is a world-reknowned artist...

Britney has had a lot to deal with recently, I know a lot of people have been attacking her because of the party image she's been tarred with, but she does have 2 young children and has just gone through a messy divorce, this is hard enough for anyone, imagine going through that publicly? Thousands of women the world over react to this sort of situation in a similar manner, but because they're not famous, no-one knows about it so can't start pointing the finger at them.

I think we should just leave her alone to do her own thing for a while and get herself better, then hopefully she'll make an amazing come-back and be happy again; never mind being a star, I hope she gets the real Britney back and enjoys those beautiful little boys she has...we all make wrong choices sometimes, don't we?

Well they both started out together at this infamous Mickey Mouse club, although Britney was the first to release a single. They followed different paths in terms of music style bar Xtina's first single. Xtina got a most amazing voice and she never really pretended to be anything but what herself.

Can't really compare the two, Britney's talent lays elsewhere, not vocally but her whole package. As for her image being tarnished, well it certainly isn't shining as bright but I am sure it will be polished up once again with a bit of time and money. I wouldn't write her off yet!

I suppose Christina`s appearance at the height of Britneys fame maybe stole a little of Britneys limelight but i have to say Christina is the best singer hands down although i like Britneys music too .. The pop industry is cut throat and i guess its up to the fans ,, obviously Christina has more fans ..

as someone who worked as a recording engineer for 22 years i can understand how britney feels. xtina came along and stole her crown and went on to beome an even better singer and artist were as britney is just a great looking pop singer that sings other peoples productions for them. xtina writes and produces and obviously has more talent. i am sure britney is thinking now what??

Some singers have better voices than others, which does not mean they want to make them look untalented. I guess there hs always been a bit of healthy competition between Britney and Christina.

nope,xtina always had the glory over britney. She wasn't forced into the way she conducts herself,she aint the only 1 who was a child star,justin and xtina have done well and maintained their dignity throughout their careers. Britney had no limelight to take in my opinion. She looks like trash now and should give herself a shake. She should look at wot she used to look like,i know which i'd prefer!!!

I think it was earned. Both started in show biz on the same TV show, they shared a stage for two seasons, but in the end Christina seems to have gotten the better end of the deal. I'm sure part of it has to do with her personality (she seems to be a little more stable and resilient than britney is) as well as the fact that she has an unbeatable talent.

Not at all. I always thought Christina to be much better then Britney. So much more talent, but I don't think she makes Brits look untalented. They're two totally different individuals.

I think Brittney Spears whacked out when she wasn't the "it" attraction anymore. Christina has always had a set of pipes. She is a very talented singer. Being successful as a singer requires the ability to sing which Brittney does not have. Without her sexy image Brit is doomed. She made some very very bad decisions in a short period of time and appears to the public as an under educated tramp hooked on drugs. Not to mention a horrible mother. She also appears to be a spoiled brat and very immature. I feel sorry for her kids. Christina has had a wild side but I believe it was a show to promote sales.
