There were a couple of times that my mom said things to my boyfriend when I was a teenager that made me feel like she felt like that. But the only thing you can do is let your mother know that it hurts your feelings when she speaks to you or of you in that manner. After all if your still a teenager you still searching for the true you that your going to be dealing with for the rest of your life, your going to make mistakes, and a lot of false starts to find what works for you.
No matter what believe in yourself and remember that the only way to prove them wrong is to succeed.

No my Mom never called imcompetent and she always told me how special I was. I was very close to my Mom up until she died. I guess I was a Mama's girl.

No. my mom just has expectations and expects me to follow it and even if i don't she wouldn't take it that far she would just tell me what she feel i should do. But never tell I'm worth nothing.Everyone worth something, mother's should be the last people on earth to do that to their children.

Never! My mom was a wonderful person and a terrific mother. It broke my heart when she died. It's been over three years and the pain lingers on.

I had a "strong" minded mother, but she was also a good Mom...very stern, though...I was the only girl and she wanted me to be a "lady"...I'm a Tomboy and always was....oh my poor mother.. Ha ! (God rest her)

No, she didn't. She has very high standards, and knew I could meet them. Mostly she called me lazy...
