Since young children dont have an understanding of the world what do you think they see?

When i was about 3 years old my grand mother died. Young children dont understand death...so my family one visited her house and i went also...they said i was calling her name and pointing at her but i was too young to explainwhat i saw...So since i didnt understand the concept of death i MIGHT have accually seen my dead grand mother...

So since children dont have an understanding of the world what do you think they can see? Has something like this happened to you?

When my grandmother died we were at her house on the day before the funeral. My 3 year old son and my 3 year old niece saw my grandmother in her bedroom and said she was telling them that she just wanted to see them one more time. They didn't understand where she was going because we hadn't discussed anything about her death with them. They were talking out loud in her bedroom while we were in the next room.
