A fetus has a completely different DNA from that of the mother. By biological definition, that means that it is a completely seperate organism, in this case - a completely seperate human being. A fetus grows while inside the womb and has independent brain and cardiovascular functions. There is absolutely no scientific argument that that a fetus is part of its mother.

There is no remaining political argument for this brutal practice. Science has definitively proven that it is NOT a women's body for her to choose what to do with. There are two human bodies and in the United States, one can legally kill the other.

Why do you abortionists refuse to acknowledge the scientific facts surrounding the issue?

All we've gotten from the abortionists so far is the usual rhetoric. As usual, you all are dodging the question. Will some pro-choice person PLEASE attempt to put together a logically sound argument that addresses the question at hand. So far, not even one pro-choice answer has even attempted to address the question.

If abortion was illegal, it wouldn't stop anything. We've all heard about cases where women either go to shady, back -alley surgeries or remove the foetus themselves with coat hangers You say it's not a woman's body for her to choose what to do with.. the foetus is dependant on the mother's body to keep it alive. She endures the pregnancy, which effects her work, health, body.. it can change her life and even ruin her relationships with people around her. If a woman well and trully doesn't want to put her body through this and potentially damage her social situation, she'll take the law into her own hands and pull the plug on it, legally or not.

Personally, I think to be alive you must be breathing oxygen independently.. The foetus is on a life support system.

I don't really see it, but even if science does prove it's murder, how does it compare with the murders of people who have been born? The foetus can't think or feel, thus it won't suffer.. Not like children all over the world who have been born into unwanted families, who die from malnutrition and physical abuse from the hands of parents or guardians who don't give a damn. Considering the bigger picture, I'd say abortion is the lesser of the two evils.

As for religion, If abortionists are going to Hell, then that's their business and no one else's.

I'm pro choice, but being diplomatic, I think men and women should be more careful about using contraception to prevent the need for abortions in the first place.

You are not arguing the scientific merit of whether or not a fetus is alive, you're arguing the philosphical notion of individuality. The DNA of the fetus may be different than that of the mothers, but the fetus is solely dependent on the mothers nutritional and oxygen intake to live. If you kill the mother, and do not extract the fetus, it will not live inside her cadaver on its own, as such, it is an extension of her body.

The so-called facts you've presented are not backed up with proper references, and as such, I shall treat them as second-hand at best. In terms of where or not a fetus is considered a seperate, thinking individual, you are mistaken. Formation of the childs identity does not occur until well into the first or second years of life, and even then, they are little more than sponges when it comes to thought and expression.

What clouds your judgement on this issue appears to be emotional attachment. What you fail to realize is that there are live people starving to death while we argue whether or not cancelling the creation of life is good or bad. How about we stop all the currently living people from starving to death after they've experienced life, than worry about those that don't know that suffering.

hi, for people who have confidence the fetus is human and not deemed to be by skill of the powers that be then those docs are not to any extent further murderers than the squaddies and camp commanders interior the Holocaust because of the fact the peoples exterminated have been deemed no longer be human by skill of the state the two. If abortion have been unlawful as formerly, i do no longer think of the docs ought to get the dying penalty yet they should lose their licenses to prepare and get some penal complex time like formerly. Because "science" has proven something makes little difference in the real world. If that were true, the legal definition of insanity would be far different and Prohibition would never have been repealed. Tobacco would be banned.

The fetus is still entirely dependent on its mother and she bears the physical, mental, economic, and social costs of carrying it.

The conflict over abortion has nothing to do with science.

Yeah, science also says that before 2 or 3 months, the fetus is unable to feel, meaning that it's like a vegetable. So, it can't think, can't feel, and can't move. It's like it's not even alive yet.

I don't think that aborting a baby after this time period is even legal, at least not in the state I live in (which is good). But, if a woman was raped or she can't afford to have a baby (because having one is REALLY expensive) then she should at least have a CHOICE whether or not to abort it!

Imagine a baby being born into an already starving family. If you believe in God and Heaven, don't you think it will be happier in Heaven?! And not in poverty and starving??!

*sigh*...where did you get the definition? Probably an anti-abortion website ...

No one has a right to tell anyone what to do with their body. If a woman has an abortion, let's liken it to a man having a vasectomy then. Those sperm are alive!! If you have a vasectomy, you're just as guilty as if I have an abortion.

No one will ever tell me that I can't do what I feel is right for me. Abortion is a woman's and whomever she chooses to involve in that decision is a private personal choice, not the choice of some radical group who feels the need to stick their nose where it doesn't belong.

And duh, a fetus is part of the mother - otherwise it would be able to feed itself and wouldn't need the mother's body to sustain itself.

Nice try

Simple, they don't care. I am a beliver in Christ, and I disagree with abortion, however when I was young I was raped by bikers, I got it aborted right away. Not knowing the difference back then. I was glad of it at that time, and at times now I still am. I was 14 years old, they were on all kinds of drugs as well as they got me on the drugs. That baby would never have had a chance. With the drugs it would have come out with something wrong it. I'm sorry but I do think there should be restrictions, like in my situation.

I am pretty sure you are not a woman. Most people that are against abortions are men. Some men simply don't get it because it's not their body who is pregnant. Getting pregnant is incredibly scary. It's never a easy choice. Most people who have aborted a baby does it for a pretty good reason. Babies are not for everyone.
Adoption, you can't imagine how hard it would be to spend two days with your baby in the hospital and have to give him up.
I my self thought of abortion when I was 16 because I was not ready. Tough I ended up keeping him.

I understand your point of view and I honestly don't take sides. But I'd like to point out that yes, by a biological definition a fetus is a human being, but by a society definition--and legal definition--it has yet to be assigned a DATE OF BIRTH and therefore is essentially unclassifiable.

I'm not an abortionist, but I am a Pro-choice feminist.
Here are my reasons for being Pro-Choice:
1)Seeing all the unwanted, abused, poverty-stricken kids is pretty convincing evidence for abortion.
2)If that's not enough, there's always the girls and women raped or incested who get pregnant with children they neither want nor need.
3) The dearth of Anti-Abortion folks who are out there helping the above women and kids.
Good luck
