To my knowledge, there is no "list" of SSA declared disabilities. Each claim is reveiwed individually. Certain disorders have a higher rate of approval..ones where the person is physically unable to work, or serious developmental delays or mental illness..but there is no garunteed approval. SSI is awarded to adults based on the impact the disability has on their ability to support themselves. With kids, the deciding factor is the financial impact the disability has on the family. In both cases, the totaly income of the household is taken into consideration and, with kids especially, it is very tough to get SSI if the household income is over $45,000 a year.
