It's funny you would ask , I was on the TAPS web site reading an article on the subject. Yes there are both good and bad spirits, just like there are good and bad people that are living. It's hard to say if a spirit would help mankind , the spirit is only that. However the article went on to say there are spirits that are not of this world , usually brought in by seances, ougi boards and other means of contact, in these cases it was advised to RUN! and call TAPS

I believe in angels and bad spirits(demons). I believe angels and demons are all around us. They whisper to us while we sleep. Some people talk about spirit guides and they say spirit guides are regular people that have crossed over. I don't know about all that because God states that once you are dead, you are dead and the dead is not to be called upon. But angels walk the earth, just as demons do. Someone once told me to always be nice to the people you meet because you never know if you're entertaining an angel since they do appear in human form.

"Good" and "bad" are relative concepts. Spirits, like everything else in this world, are just energy. The laws of physics say all matter is energy. Spirit *is* matter, science just simply has been unable to find a way to quantitatively measure it so far. Energy knows nothing about "good" and "bad", it just is. Is electricity knowledgeable about "good" and "bad"? No, electricity just keeps pulsing along doing its thing. It is us humans who might use it for wonderous sparkly lights or misuse it for dangerous accidents. Only humans have the capacity for labelling and putting meaning on "things". Therefore, spirits are just spirits, and it is some of us humans that "decide" whether they are "good" or "bad". Personally, I believe such labelling is disrespectful. It's disrespectful to label a living, breathing human. Why would it be any less disrespectful to label a spirit?

Have you ever considered whether, by labelling a spirit "bad", they might just oblige you just to be ornery? Especially if it is a Celtic spirit, they are pretty good at helping us out in "confirming" our beliefs. For example, let's say we "think" a particular spirit is "bad", and perhaps that spirit is in a bad mood that day... they just might take you up on the offer and *be* "bad" to show you that you are "right".

It's just like accusing your lover of cheating on you. They then go out and do just that to prove you right.

ever read those lines in a poem by the Persian poet Rumi about being " in mean spirited road houses" seems to be the only line i remember of this poem at the moment, there a mean spirit of memory loss attacking me, yes, i do believe in evil and good spirits, we are to be wise as serpents and gentle as doves because the day is evil thereof" you do know that there is "nothing evil of it self" but are there evil demons and spirites lurking in a nether world perhaps waiting to escape and leap into this dimension at anytime, yes i do, yes, i really do,,, the world or the nether worlds are full of them,,,,,, i at the same time do not believe in ufos or aliens from space, but a nether world(sO exists have a nice day and remember it is evil thereof, we should constantly watch and pray,

Yes. Sometimes I sense spirits in my apartment. It got really bad at one point where it felt like there was always "someone" behind me. Finally I got pissed off and said (out loud) "you are not welcome here, so leave, NOW!" Since then it's happened much less. I am not afraid of whatever it is - this takes away much of it's power. It's strange, because I've lived in the same apartment for 10 years but only in the last year has this phenomena begun to occur.

Spirits are energy and energy is not good nor bad, it just is--is electricity good or bad, is atomic energy good or bad, and so on--good or bad is our judgment and means little on a mankind scale of things; although, some spirits may be beneficial for our goals, others may be detrimental, all are important for our well being, or they wouldn't exist. i believe there's good and bad spirits. they're energy fields left behind by the dead people who died before their 'time'.
think positive, everything is good.
but bad are those who got violent, vengeful before their death.
i don't really believe good spirits help mankind, unless they help their next of kin (who most probably can feel them around anyway, due to the similar 'energy' channel)
helping stuff... that sounds like an angel, and i'm not sure if i believe in angels or not...

If this were even possible, I should imagine that the evil spirits would probably all eventually decide that it isn't worth the effort, as mankind is capable of plenty of evil wihout their interference, and the good spirits would probably be more likely to play with dolphins that bother with humans.
