Absolutely not. Some people actually feed their guinea pigs dog or cat food. I do not recommend it because these foods are formulated specifically for a certain type of animal. I would not worry about it, he probably enjoyed it!

Unless it has hairball medicine in it or something like that, one morsel of cat or dog food probably won't hurt your guinea pig. I would not recommend allowing this to happen often--too much of the wrong type of pet food could make your guinea pig ill.

No, I think the only kind of rodent that would be hurt by eating somthing that isn't made for them is maybe a chinchilla. Guinea pigs are a lot like rats and can eat lots of stuff without it hurting them. Did your guinea pig eat somthing?

Once is not enough for concern. But: "Avoid pellets that use animal byproducts and those whose primary ingredient is corn." Check out the web site below it is a good source of info for Guinea pig care.

Probably won't hurt it as long as it's not eating dog or cat food every day.

It should be ok, just don't let it keep happening. Make sure your piggie has his own fresh food and water everyday.
