Eric Clapton sings the music that he accompanies himself while he is playing the guitar, if I understand your question correctly. He is most known for being an electric blues player, but he can play rock just as easily. He also does ballads, dirges, and some country. He was once known as the greatest blues player in the world, but do yourself a favor and put on some Leslie West of the band Mountain.

Eric Clapton at the moment is a solo singer, he has been in various different bands such as: "Derek and the Dominoes" and more commonly known for his work in "Cream". He is a Rock and Blues singer and he also plays guitar... He was inspired by the likes of "Robert Johnson" and "BB King". If you need any more info, send me an email and I'll get right back to you...

Rock and Blues. Get his 'Pilgrim' CD. It's remarkable.
My son left a message on my cell phone a few weeks ago. He was in Phoenix at a Clapton concert. He held his phone up as Robert Cray was finishing a song. Just then Clapton began to play "Crossroads" from backstage and he was absolutely on fire as he continued playing as he took the stage. My son was gloating, I was jealous!

he has come full circle, from the bluesy rock he played in the 60s to more pop-o-riffic [but still damn good] rock, finally back to bluesy material these days
