Yes and no. You have to remember that blacks are the minority in this country, blacks make up only 12% of the total population. I think the problem with Don Imus is that he said it about a specific team, and he's said things like that so many times in the past. If a black talk show how had made similar sexist remarks he would have surely been fired. also.

I'll tell ya, every radio station that I know of would have went off but, for him to be fired...no. An apology, yes. There's no justification for it and when I think of it, just last year, these were high school students. It was totally uncalled for. What bothers me is that so many people think that we condone the music, etc. So not true...Unfortunately you have big corporations behind the music, comedy, etc. The conversation that's going on right now is having this even catapult into more control over what goes over the airways. I could care less about the skin color, we're going overboard w/this freedom of speech. We have to get back to human decency.

I would imagine his listeners would let him have it. Imus didn't get that kind of feedback from his listeners.

Not at all.

If he was black, he could have called them anything from a to z.

Blacks did fight for all their rights, then fight to take away a right for everyone. Everyone is not a child and can chose to listen or not.
