Look within. Sometimes we have a hard time finding our spiritual compass. Love yourself. Discover who you are & what you really want. You have to know where you want to go before you can try to navigate your way there. Take it one day at a time. Enjoy each step of the journey. Even once you have set goals & think you know where you're heading, be aware that things don't always go as planned. Be open to surprises & unexpected detours on your way. (Life really is what happens while you're making other plans.)
We all feel lost sometimes. Find yourself. Search your soul first. Once you know who you are, like who you are & know what you want, then you'll have the confidence to go wherever you like & the resourcefulness to find your way.
Good luck.
:)

Despite growing up in the bush I am cursed with similar complaint - but mostly in cities, towns, or in buildings. And, sadly, even at sea I always needed to get my directions from the compass especially at night or in overcast weather. (although curiously I could guess time accurately and sense changes in weather hours in advance, and could see further than anyone I ever knew). SO - A GPS only gives you geographical position, and direction and speed of travel, from which it can feed to a screen, the compass direction (magnetic or true) and distance to a pre-set objective - and thus guide you across a chart or a map of roads, etc. To improve your sense of direction, I suggest carrying a good small compass and checking it regularly with reference to the sun's position, shadows, etc, in different seasons. Guess first, verify later (the method also recommended for maths). Do the same with your watch, day and night. You should find you hone your senses. We've got 'em, like any animal, but like so much else we're losing 'em, or largely lost 'em, from living with external aids in the environment of a zoo. Good luck, watch your step! By the way moss often grows to the northern side of trees in the northern hemisphere, and reverse in the southern; which can be a help if lost. You'll often find at night the warmest external wall of a building or big rocks will tell you direction too (southern side hottest northern hemisphere).

I have a terrible sense of direction, and a GPS has helped me quite a bit. You will obviously still get lost indoors. I haven’t found a good solution for this yet.

I think you are the one who can help with your sense of direction - where do you want to be in 10 years? What do you want to do with your life? What things do you need to do to achieve these goals? The answer is within you, and you have the power to determine & achieve whatever direction you want!
