I have a betta too though I rarely feed him 'betta balls' as I call them because I find that he just doesn't like them very much. Also they are so dry they often will not eat them for quite awhile untill they soak up enough moisture to be edible. You might try pre-soaking them for 5 minutes in a small cup of tank water to soften them up before feeding. I always have good results that way. My betta also goes crazy for freeze dried daphnia, blood worms and Hikari brand micro wafers. You may want to try these alternatives but I wouldn't expect him to eat so soon in his new environment.

No worries at all, that completely normal. Remove the uneaten food as to not foul the tank water and give him a day or two to settle in. Most bettas will eat 3-4 pellets for a meal, once or twice a day. Bloodworms from the pet shop are also an excellent healthy treat for them once or twice a week.

Remove the pellets. Anything the fish doesn't eat within 2 - 3 minutes should be removed so it doesn't start decaying in the water.
Most fish are traumatized (stressed) in transport. He should probably eat tomorrow. And..a fish's stomach is as big as its eye. One or 2 pellets at the most should be more than enough. We put a minute sprinkling of betta flakes in ours.

Fish get stressed out when they are in a car or moved to a completly new place. Try feeding him tomorrow. By the way, dont worry too much about over feeding them. There are some fish that may eat untill they die but not too many. Bettas are smarter than that.

If you just got him it will take him a couple of days to settle in. Don't be worried it is perfectly normal. Make sure you don't over feed him, or he will get sick. Also clean the uneaten food off the bottem of the tank, so it does not rot and produce toxic chemicals.

No you shouldn't. Give him some time to adjust to his new home. He will take little time in knowing what kind of food you are feeding him cos maybe the store guys fed him something else.

ya they take a few days to adjust. mine did. give it time and it will "fit in". if u were suddenly scopped up from ur home and thrown somewhere else unfamiliar, would u have much of an appetite? Think like the fish man.

Not yet. They usually recommend not feeding the first day anyways. They are trying to become comfortable with their new surroundings and new home. See what he does tomorrow.

No, he will eat eventually. But you shouldn't have given him 7 pellets. He will now die because you over fed him.
