Grigori Rasputin, the Russian mystic who was a healer to the Romanovs.

The legend of his assassination says that he was poisoned with cyanide, which did not kill him although it was enough to kill ten men. He was then shot four time, which did not kill him, badly beaten, stabbed, and clubbed in the head, which did not kill him, and finally thrown into a river unconscious. When his body was found it was determined that he had drowned.

However, there is no medical evidence that the poisoning ever occurred, and it is inconclusive whether or not the water found in his lungs was from drowning. The only verifiable injuries are the beating, stab wounds and gunshots. There are many conflicting theories about which method actually killed Rasputin.

Rasputin, an Orthodox monk, who many believed had mystic powers. He was apparently much approved of by the Sarena. Some young officer[s] tried to kill him with arsenic but he survived. He was eventually shot dead.
