I was just thinking about this. I was rewatching Dirty Dancing for the 100th time tonight, LOL, and I was thinking how sexy dancing is. So for me, my two favorite romantic scenes, without sex/making out, would have to be the final dance scene in Dirty Dancing, and the dancehall scene from Hope Floats. What's yours?

I thought of another scene that is sexy. Maybe it's too close to making out or what, but it's in Armageddon, where Liv Tyler and Ben Affleck are lying on the ground together, where he's playing with the animal crackers, giving little scenes, walking them up and down her body. And then she asks if anyone else is doing the same thing at the very same moment, and he says something to the effect of that he hopes they are, otherwise what are they saving?? That's romantic.

Well, for me it is Meg Ryan eating at a restraunt and having an orgasm to prove Billy Crystal wrong about faking an orgasm. I'll have what she's having...says it all. (When Harry Met Sally)

My top five:

1) Ben Chaplin feeding Uma Thurman desserts in "The Truth About Cats and Dogs", and her reaction, and his reaction to her reaction . . . it's sensual and funny.

2) The play scene at the end of "Stage Beauty"- the energy in it is so raw and somehow sexual, even though it's actually a death scene; but knowing what Maria and Ned have been through before just makes it amazing, plus their breathless excitement when it's done.

3) The waiting scene in "Secretary"; Maggie Gyllenhaal in a wedding dress clutching the desk in the epiphany that she loves Edward and will wait indefinitely is amazing, and then when he comes and carries her out, and then takes care of her (which leads to sex) . . . it's the most romantic thing I've ever seen, and somehow not at all cliched.

4) When Jessica Lange climbs into the bathtub, fully clothed, with her husband in "Big Fish" and just lays with him. So romantic, so understated and sweet.

5) When the guy from the trailer doesn't touch Heather Graham in "Committed"- he plays a game where he runs his hands over her body, but hovering just enough so that they don't touch, while her eyes are closed, so she doesn't even know what he's doing, but it affects her. It's very sexy.

And yes, I agree with you- dancing can be so amazingly sexy!

The shower scene between Vesper and James Bond in Casion Royale (sooooo sweet! I'd love it if my bf would jump in the shower for me, fully clothed, just to comfort me) and in Titanic, were Rose tells Jack 'this is where we first met'....just before the ship sinks :)

Sex and the Single Girl
at the movie's end, Natalie Wood "cries" in front of Tony Curtis. such beauty as she uses her feminine wiles to get Curtis to take her back--absolutely breathtaking!

ok super sappy movie, but how about the scene in Phenomenon where Kyra Sedgwick shaves John Travolta while"Crazy Love" plays in the background? Its slow and tender and it symbolizes how she was finally letting her guard down and letting him in her heart.

the most romantic scene for me in a movie is in richard gere's "shall we dance".

no, it's not that dancing scene with J.Lo, it's with his wife, portrayed by Susan Sarandon!

it's that scene where richard gere was dressed in the tuxedo which his wife gave him to attend Paulina's (j.Lo.) send off party.

instead of going to J.Lo's party, he went to where his wife was working overtime. the scene showed him aboard the escalator while holding a single red rose then surprised his wife by asking her to dance with him and saying "my partner is here with me"...

really blew me off!

okay totally cheesy but it would either have to be titantic when rose and jack are in the water about to die and he lets her lay on the chest thingy....or in the notebook when she comes back no words are spoken and she runs into his arms and he wraps her in that blanket love it
