whenever i do this, i do like three steps.

1- i put the white tip on. i don't use any nail polish remover though. i just am able to do it right without.

2- i put on a light, light, peachy pink color.

3- i put on only one layer of clear coat.

F.Y.I.- when you put on too much polish(or too many layers) it causes it to chip easier.

hope this helps!

I too have thin, bendy nails and my nailpolish used to chip off easily. I have found that if I apply a basecoat, a couple layers of nailpolish, and then a topcoat the color stays on fine. OPI Nail Envy is the best product I've ever tried, and I have tried many. It's a little more expensive than your average walmart nail treatment, but the stuff is great. It makes my nails feel much stronger when I wear it and keeps my nailpolish on for awhile when I use it as a topcoat. I'll even put two coats of the stuff on my nails when I'm not wearing any nailpolish to make them shiny and unbendable.

My guess is that some of the nail polish remover seeped into the tip, causing the crack. Instead of doing it that way, you should just paint the tip. There are kits with stickers you can use to mask out the part you don't want to paint. Afterward, brush a clear top coat over the whole nail.

try putting clear nail polish on your nails before you put the white tip on in addition to after. this usually prevents chipping.

A problem might be that you have oil on your nails either from lotion or naturally. Also make sure the layers are thin not thick gloppy ones.

It can help to put white pencil under your nails too. Then any slight imperfections don't show up.
