I am afraid that, expert as I am, I cannot help you very much without you stating what the concentration of the sodium hydroxide was. Perhaps the question stated how many grams had been added to a certain volume of water. Let us call it z grams in y cm3.

1. Molarity of NaOH = (1000 x z)/(40 x y)

2. (25/1000) x molarity of NaOH x (1/2) x (1000/18.95)

3. Multiply your answer to 2 by 98.
