I am looking for a website (or something) that can give me an idea of states or regions in the U.S. that employ certain occupations more than other states. For example, which states employ the most counselors/mental health professionals, or lawyers, or CEOs or whatever. Which states have the greatest need/demand/opportunity for which occupations-something like that! Thanks for your help!

I think your best shots for finding the information would be the Department of Labor website and the latest U.S. Census data, also available online.

US Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics
Employment projections

US Census Bureau
http://www.census.gov

Another really great resource with an enormous resource of information is Fedstats
