I grew up listening to Johnny Cash. For a Southern boy in the 60's, I remember everyone almost considering Johnny Cash and June Carter family they had never met. Everyone loved this man, but not one person I know had ever met him. He was far and wide more popular than Elvis Presley and Elvis worked on a farm here in my county and many people, including my father remember meeting him. My father played piano for Carl Perkins, who grew up not 25 miles from my house. But still, ask anyone here, and Johnny Cash was the most popular around here in the 60's and early 70's.
Favorite songs? Folsom Prison Blues. A Boy Named Sue. I Walk the Line. Ring of Fire. Many more, but these are my favorites.
Album? I Walk the Line.
I have never seen the movie.
I am sorry he is gone. All the greats are disappearing.

Do I Iike him? he was okay
Saw the movie, good one.
Favorite song? Get rhythm or I Walk the line.
He had a good taste in music, had it not for him The Statler Brothers' country career may not have been as prolific as it was. He put them on the map. Thanks Cash.

Sunday Morning Coming Down ... captures the pain of a lonely life, knowing that something better is there, but unable to reach out for it.

never would be one like him. Folsom detention center Blues has a lonely, depressing high quality approximately it, that basically tugs at your soul. "I shot a guy in Reno, just to observe him die"...haunting. i've got been everywhere....is the nonsensical music i will't get out of my head! yet i like it, so its ok. yet Ring of fireplace is my well known.
