I have been trying to sell a house for many years and have allowed my niece and her baby to live there to help maintain the appearence however, she cannot afford to pay rent. I had heard that we might be able to get some type of help for allowing her to live there. I can't sell it and she has nowhere else to live the house my family lives in is too small for all of us. Any suggestions?

Section 8, but in most states immediate family members are not allowed to rent to section 8 voucher keepers. Check with section if you can rent to your niece.

I think if it was not family, you'd have a better chance - but it can't help to ask. She should find out from her welfare caseworker.
