So i've been late to work several times within the past few months, and my job asked me to write a letter of apology to go about getting my job back, but i don't know where to start or how to begin the letter, HELP!
Is there a website that i can go to and find a sample letter?

Gee, if you're not smart enough to write your own
letter from your own thoughts, maybe they shouldn't
rehire you. Why do you show up late? You need to
get more responsible. Set your alarm much earlier
than it takes you to get ready, so you'll have plenty
of time, don't have to rush, and can then relax on
your drive to work knowing you're not late.
Tell them you've decided to take your job more
seriously and be responsible, that you made a mistake
by showing up late more than once. Then say "I hope
you'll accept my apology as I'd really like to have my
job back again".

I would enclose the following items in a letter.

You realize that you have had problems in the past and you are sorry about being late. But explain the specific ways you will ensure that you won't be late any more. By explaining in writing what you are sincerely promising to do to prevent this from recurring, you are showing that you are taking responsibility to improve, and it will show that you sincerely mean it. Now, you need to understand that the apology does not mean that you can do this any more. In fact, if you are late again, your boss will have grounds to terminate your employment.

I'm chronically late. So what I do to ensure that I'm on time for work is to tell myself that I absolutely have to be at work 15 minutes before the start of the shift. That way if I am late by 5 or 10 minutes from my "start" of the shift, I'm still at work before my shift starts.

Here are the basic rules of a letter

What do you need to say. I am sorry that I've been to work late. I understand that this unfairly imposes upon my co-workers, who must perform my job until I get there.

Why does this happen? I have been having troubles with the bus - it has been coming 15 - 30 minutes late.

How will you prevent this in the future? I have now purchased a car, so that you will no longer be impacted by the late bus schedule.

And then thank them - Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to turn over a new leaf and increase my value to the company.

Sincerely,

you

"I would like to apologize for being late to work several times over the past few months. I realize the difficulty this causes XYZ Company. I have enjoyed my job at XYZ and appreciate the opportunity given to me, and I am truly sorry for the disruption.

In the future, I will make sure I arrive at work on time by [setting my alarm, leaving earlier, arranging reliable transportation, whatever].

Respectfully yours,

Joe"

Simple...

First, acknowledge your fault and take responsibility. Second, promise that you won't repeat your mistakes.
Third, apologize for your coworkers, boss, and the corporation.
Forth, ASK for forgiveness.

Don't try to make a shortcut by cut-and-pasting form letters from internet. It will be obvious to those who will have to read it. It will have to come from you. Keep in mind, if you mess up again, you WILL be fired. This is your last chance.
