I have heard from many docs that if you want to get pregnant you should be at an ideal weight. I am not sure if it is to help your chances of becoming pregnant or to help you have a healthier pregnancy or both. But I do know being over weight can cause many issues with pregnancy.

Being overweight can make it more difficult to get pregnant but it is not a type of birth control. A woman can not assume that because she is overweight she will not be able to get pregnant. Size 20, 5 months pregnant with number 1.

It would depend on how much you are overweight. I have read that your BMI or body mass index should be between the 20-30 range. There are several on the internet you can use for free. You may also have issues if you are underweight also. I think it is always possible to get pregnant even if you are overweight I know several women who have been overweight and gone on to have healthy babies. It just may cause complications like high blood pressure or diabetes. Good luck!

I think it can. However, I am slightly overweight and had no porblems. My sister and my brother's girlfriend are more overweight (sizes in the 20's, not sure where though) and my sister just had a healthy baby boy last year and my brother's girlfriend had 2 healthy baby girls. A lot of the risks will be gestational diabetes and higher blood bressure, both of which I have avoided so far. Good Luck.

I am overweight and got pregnant the first month of trying. My blood pressure is optimal and have no problems. Don't let everyone scare you. Some overweight women don't ovulate, but if you have a period every 20-45 days, your ovaries are probably doing their job.

Yes, I'm not sure why but I work in the weight loss industry and have had many women come to me for help because their doctor told them that their weight was the problem. I lady conceived shortly after losing her weight.

Absolutely not. If your ovaries are healthy and you are ovulating normally, then there are no worries for you. Good luck.
