Yes, go to Wal-Mart and get milk and a bottle specifically for puppies/kittens. You'll need to feed him like every 1/2 hour or hour for the next week or so, even during the night. As he gets bigger, you can feed him less often. Keep him against your body as much as possible, and when you can't, keep him on a heating pad turned on low with towels.
Get a book on caring for newborn puppies. You'll need to massage their bowels to get him to pee and poop and other stuff a mom dog would do, so read up on it.
Good luck!! You're such a sweetheart to do this!

He'll do fine on ANY milk, human or cow, until you can get puppy milk. You need to warm him in your hands first, and then feed him. Cold puppies can't digest. You need to feed him every 2 hours. Set an alarm clock! Keep him warm.
I should add that my grandmother would just keep putting the puppy in to nurse after some of the other puppies were done and make the dog lie down. If your dog isn't mean, try that too.

Wish you'd posted earlier. Petsmart is closed now.
Don't give the puppy human or cow's milk. It will give him diarrhea and make matters worse. Go to WalMart. They do have puppy milk replacers. The only brand name that comes to mind is Just Born but I know there are others. If there are no bottles in the pet dept., go to the toy dept. and see if you can find a small doll's bottle with a rubber nipple. Try cosmetics, crafts, whatever. You can use the eyedropper if you have to but make sure you feed him until he won't take any more. You need to do this every two hours. If he poops, wipe his rear with a wet washcloth--that is very important, as it stimulates growth. And keep trying to reunite him with his mom, even if you have to hold her down to let him nurse.
Good luck!

I kept a newborn cottontail bunny alive on human milk for several weeks, although the vet I called told me it would be dead within a few days, human milk would kill it, feed it fake cat milk (esbilac or something?). I found it late the night before we were taking a 20 hr. road trip to visit family, and we just brought the bunny along for the ride. I fed it just a dropperful or two of my breastmilk (I tried to get hindmilk if possible) in the evenings (bunnies generally only nurse once a day, for just a few minutes-- mama bunnies have extremely concentrated milk!). It lived, grew, and seemed to be thriving the whole time we were visiting family. When we left, we passed it over to a brother-in-law who raised squirrels and micro-squirrels and a couple of other types of rodents. He put it on the Esbilac and it died about a week later. :(
Human milk, while not a perfect substitute for another mammal's milk (just as cow's milk is not perfect for us!), has the immense benefit of being a living substance, compared to any manufactured formula, which is a latent substance with no live properties left. If you could get fresh, unpasteurized, unhomogenized cow's milk that would be a decent choice as well. But in the absence of any other living nutritional substance, my vote is for giving the puppy breastmilk.
I'm very interested to know how your situation turns out. Best of luck with your Tiny Tim! And all of the other pups as well of course. ;)

Get puppy replacement milk, You can buy it at walmart. You can buy powder or liquid. Feed it every two hours, and you do have to wipe it's bottom every time you feed it to help it go to the bathroom, That is very important. It has to have the milk replacement to get all the vitamins and stuff it needs. I jst had a vet tell me this friday. I am now feeding 4 puppies only a couple days old. A friend gave them to me because she found them friday morning beside her trash can,Someone just left them to die. It wasn't there fault that there mom belonged to an idiot.

Human Milk or Goats Milk should be OK for tonight until you can call the Vet for an approved Puppy Milk substitute (some Pet stores sell it too.).
Do not give the puppy Cow's Milk as this will cause diarrhoea. Good Luck I hope he or she pulls through.

We had a similar problem with a kitten once. The best thing to do is go to Walmart and buy a puppy milk supplement (they should carry it in the pet supply department). Unfortunately, puppies and kittens need to be feed every couple of hours AROUND THE CLOCK!!! Every member of my family (me, my husband, each of our two kids) took turns sitting in a chair, holding the kitten close to us so it wouldn't get cold, and feeding it. Unfortunately, and I hate to say this, the kitten still didn't survive, even after all of our efforts. If your puppy's mother pushed him away it's because she senses there is something wrong with him. It's natures way of assuring that only the strongest survive. Being the runt doesn't necessarily have anything to do with why she pushed him away, either. We have three cats and each one of them was the runt in their respective litters. Runts can, and very often do, survive. Chances are there is something physically wrong with him and his mother can sense that. Best of luck to you, sweetie, and I hope that all turns out well.

they sell puppy formula and bottles at the pet store. Feed him every two hours and if he has a problem going potty you need to wipe him with a warm washcloth/rag. They need stimulation to go potty.
This is what a vet told me to do while my dog was at the vet and her pups were at home.
Good luck,I hope he makes it!
P.S. if there are no pet stores open you can also buy the formula and bottles at a 24hr emergency vet.

Run to Walmart or a pet store such as Pet Co or Pet Smart. They have puppy milk replacement and bottle feed him!!! Also, try putting him as close to his mother as you can so he can try and feed. Maybe the mother will accept him now.
