You your self have proved that such a person could not only not profit from it but be destroyed when people see through to their incompetency, such as this example you have given. BS is BS. THIS BS does little harm, but imagine if such a person held an authoritative position such as doctor or lawyer or place in government.

'Stages of Cognitive Development. Piaget identified four stages in cognitive development:

Sensorimotor stage (Infancy). In this period (which has 6 stages), intelligence is demonstrated through motor activity without the use of symbols. Knowledge of the world is limited (but developing) because its based on physical interactions / experiences. Children acquire object permanence at about 7 months of age (memory). Physical development (mobility) allows the child to begin developing new intellectual abilities. Some symbollic (language) abilities are developed at the end of this stage.

Pre-operational stage (Toddler and Early Childhood). In this period (which has two substages), intelligence is demonstrated through the use of symbols, language use matures, and memory and imagination are developed, but thinking is done in a nonlogical, nonreversable manner. Egocentric thinking predominates

Concrete operational stage (Elementary and early adolescence). In this stage (characterized by 7 types of conservation: number, length, liquid, mass, weight, area, volume), intelligence is demonstrated through logical and systematic manipulation of symbols related to concrete objects. Operational thinking develops (mental actions that are reversible). Egocentric thought diminishes.

Formal operational stage (Adolescence and adulthood). In this stage, intelligence is demonstrated through the logical use of symbols related to abstract concepts. Early in the period there is a return to egocentric thought. Only 35% of high school graduates in industrialized countries obtain formal operations; many people do not think formally during adulthood. '

I would say pre-operation stage sounds about right.

Its not a cool thing to do!
It's much more satisfying to be awarded a best answer from someone else.
It means that they read and liked your answer. The points you do earn mean more when they are earned honestly.
Some people are either too insecure,or they are too competitive.
Whatever the case may be,they lose the whole point (pardon the pun!) of what Questions and Answers is all about.
So yeah,It's pathetic!

I notice the problem months ago.. it's so ridiculous what people will do to get points that don't mean a damn thing...let them have their points it doesn't mean they're smarter than you..it just says they know how to beat the system..they are idiots looking for rewards or a pat on the back..there is an easy way to find out who is cheating...just go to the leader board and if their answers are ridiculous than they are the ones who were cheating..

I guess I don't really care about it. I mean I am competing against myself first of all. Secondly these people must really have poor self esteems to be engaging in this type of crap. Third these people must have to much time on their hands to be playing this game. And lastly I have earned everyone of my best answers. Some of them were kind of weak, however someone else had to pick it and perhaps you will pick my answer as well. Good luck to you in your life moving forward!

Having the best answer isn't all that great anyway, reading a diverse sampling of ideas is the true value of the service

Gosh that is amazing...I think you are right, and with voters giving 4 thumbs down..
But I don't know what we can do about it.
I personally don't care about points, I just come on to learn stuff and give answers where I can.

When they reach Level 7 on their cheating track, they'll not only feel empty and hollow, they'll also be no more smarter than they were when they started.

Let them fall under the bus.

They are lame escuise of life who can only get attention from promoting them selves. they are nothing to worry about. i mean it is not like they can pick on u from being a "noob" or some crap this isn't a game. they should be ignored and give worst answers and a act of demotion. and be forced to realize their lame means getting attention.
