Im wondering which is faster, a Railgun or a Coilgun, or perhaps there is another sort of gun that can perform faster. Overall, i am just wondering what can get an object from point A to point B the fastest.

The railgun is far faster of the two at this point.

the Z Machine at Sandia National Labs has the record for a projectile at 34km/s, faster than the Earth travels in orbit. pressures generated from the impact are upwards of 15 million times the surface pressure of air.

The light gas guns only get up to 7km/s or so, with pressures of around 6 million times surface air.

Of things that have actually been built, rail guns are faster. Keep in mind that both are experimental. The fastest solid macroscopic projectiles shot from a stationary linear driver to date are from light gas guns. Note that there are a lot of qualifiers in there, though. I almost has to add "on Monday".

I'd say both railguns are real not sure about coil guns
