If it is this serious, I'd recommend hiring a private investigator to do some research.
There are online programs like NetDetective where you can look up criminal and maybe credit histories for a small fee.

She will probably dump him before all that. But, you can't stand in the way of love either. If that's what's going on here, you may have to let her go and grow up some more.
On a hopeful and devious note, you could always find some guys to introduce to your daughter. Or get a private detective to set something up.
