Next week I fly to Brisbane for the first time on business. I land there first thing on Wednesday morning. I have to stay up all day so I can quickly get adjusted from the jet lag and it's the only day that I'll be able to go see anything there.
This will be my first time there so if anyone has any recommendation as to what to go see that day I would appreciate it.

Brisbane has jack sh!t in it. Just outside of Brisbane though is a different story - you could go to the Glass House Mountains, Maleny, Bribie Island, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Australia Zoo, Big Pineapple at Nambour.

I live in Brisbane, and there aint much here!

The botanical gardens in the city is probably all i can think of. Or spend the day at Southbank (near the cbd) and go on the city cats down the brisbane river. Its a "boat" type thing that will take you along the brisbane river.

My suggestion would be head to the sunshine coast - an hr away from Brisbane Central and visit the beaches there or go to the mountains at the Sunshine coast hinterlands
