The push for racial equality seems, as a whole, not to be concerned with dissolving one race into another; but the exact opposite: being accepted as a race while retaining its own identity. Being blind to color really seems not to be the priority, but having others' eyes opened to it; being beautiful and acceptable in the eyes of other races. Now, to racial groups as a whole, does it seem a bit like selling out to go over the fence and join another racial group, rather than trying to gain acceptance as a member where you 'belong'?

It is impossible to "join" another racial group. Your race is a combination of ethnic heritage and skin color.

You cannot wash that away. It never leaves you. Just because you choose to date or marry outside of your race, doesn't mean that you are forsaking your own.

Considering interracial marriage, as is my case.. indeed, what a finer example of equality is there than to enter into a relationship where two become equal partners in life?

I would say that interracial relationships do nothing to hurt racial equality. The fact that any given individual has a choice in this day and age, to date or marry anyone that he or she so chooses.. supports racial equality!

Why would it? In order to accept other races, you have to embrace their differences. People put too much emphasis on color. Why it is impossible for people of different nationalities to share the same interests? Are you going to let a relationship best suited for you fall by the wayside because of someone's skin coloration, and perhaps miss the best opportunity for love and happiness. I admire couples who respect different cultural and ethnic backgrounds. Besides, a more blended race is sublime in more ways then one and progeny that comes out of it will have the best of both worlds.
No, interracial relationships will strengthen racial equality because bringing a beautiful bouquet of flowers in various shades and hues make a more exciting and lovely arrangement.

I don't see how they would.

People are individuals. It isn't fair to generalize about this. However, overall, it is important that interacial relationships advance to the level of...just being normal relationships.

These are archaic concepts you are asking about. I don't live my life thinking in these terms. Maybe I am lucky that I am or choose to be around others who do not think in the terms you are talking about. That does not mean I don't see it around me and I can tell you I have been badly affected by it!

I choose to be with human beings. Not seeing colour. Gosh. You know it is about really seeing each other! Not looking for easy ways to generalise people at face value! Each person is a compilation of so many things! Where I object to the colour aspect is that it 'colours' peoples assumptions about someone. Colour does not speak to culture or religion or gender issues or how you are raised. Maybe if in a local situation but gee that is so general it is not even applicable everywhere in the country I live in.

If you are First Nations...well there is the Indigeonus comunity world wide, then within colonial boarders, then there are individual Nations, Clans and so on.

There are universals for everyone of every colour, then there are all the variables. If people are only interested in empires based on races co-existing as equals count me out! just as if they want to have one race lording it over another, count me out!!!!!!!!!!!!Hurting the cause?! Come on...where is that statement coming from?

Some societies and some individuals claim a kind of ownership over people based on their ideas of race. Really. it is up to the individual who they mate with. "Love who you will"
I see these individuals or groups as fear and power motivated.
You ask them what they are really afraid of if you can get them past their ugly little rants and it is usally something about the other guy taking over. Well that is very telling. Means they think they are in control? They are bolstering the Castle walls, the fortifications!!!

If anything, interacial relationships and people of diverse racial lineage, are those that demonstrate openness and the advancement of equal rights and freedoms through actualization.

It is considered preferable biologically, for a species to have diversity. It is genetically preferable for individuals to choose partners who will give their offspring greater gene diversity. We are actually biologically designed to choose our partners that way! This ideaology you speak to goes against what is healthy for our species.

I want to be seen for who I am and that is not by colour as a first and primary form of assesment. I have friends and family of many backgrounds, colours, religions. We take such a lot of garbage from people. We have family of different colours and people don't think we are related! It is really hurtful!!!!!!!!

Think again! This is just another form of racism!!!!!!!

All my relations!

Peace through understanding!

Love and hugs for Katie! xox Roar!

Would you not think that if you wanted to marry out of your race, that racial equality is being bettered?

nope. ive by no ability felt extra gentle speaking approximately racial subject concerns as I actual have with my exbfs(who all can bypass as black); and that i do have faith that one or 2 of them would have felt the same. we could vent to a minimum of one yet another, and constantly understood the place the different substitute into comming from. in case you incredibly sense the form you basically defined, then youve the two by no ability met a white guy or woman who is conscious black custom, or you basically relatively do take place to strongly desire black companions; yet that doesnt propose that that satisfies each black persons emotional desires while it comprises racial subject concerns. everybodies distinctive, and anyhow, us black & white people have plenty extra in consumer-friendly than we understand. i think of you're giving into stereotyping IR relationships too plenty. thats super in case you strongly desire a black significant different, somebody of your race, yet in simple terms because of the fact yet another black guy or woman doesnt, does not propose that theyre "letting their component down". think of roughly it, does race triumph faith for you? nationality? as an occasion, i for my area will basically be with a Christian guy, and an American guy. yet as for race, im open to each little thing. you're forgetting how efficient our shared American history is! black and white people have been residing mutually for hundreds of years- please do no longer call "factors".
