Liberals speak from emotion not logic. That's why they arguments fail, they should we then embarrass them?

Strangely enough, the person who first answered you says he is an English teacher at a college in Michigan. I would not want my son to be in his class. Intellectual inflexibility is something a college education is supposed to correct. There are monolithic thinkers on both sides of the political fence, but conservatives seem to have a more neanderthal approach. Somehow many of them seem to equate being an American and being patriotic with putting blinders on their thinking process. I have friends on this site who are diametrically opposed to my views. We still respect each other's opinions. It is always a plus when we can agree on things political. Seeing the world in terms of black and white is just a short cut to thinking.

But I cannot respect your beliefs - they are so removed from reality as to be phantasies. Look at what one of the bright Liberal gubernatorial stars is proposing in Illinois - enact a gross receipts tax to fund socialized medicine. The news media, in their typical way, describe this as:

"This will not effect the individual taxpayer. For example, an auto dealer who sells a $20,000 car will have to pay 0.5%, or $100, to the fund."

Doesn't even the dimmest bulb in the Democratic party realize the first thing the auto dealer does is raise the price of that car to $20,100? Economics 101?

At least businesses like auto dealers will have a chance to recoup the added costs. Other businesses, who must compete in other states, cannot stand the extra 0.5 to 1.8% theft of their profit. Result? They move. Net result? Illinois tax revenues go down.

Simple math and economics - if the supposedly well-educated liberals do not understand that, it DOES mean they are stupid.

You are showing your doubts and insecurity of your beliefs by searching for acceptance on this forum. Most conservatives tolerate youthful liberals (under 40)since the smart educated ones wake up when they start to make serious$$ and become conservatives.Liberals over 40 are a lost cause and most of us simply ignore them unless they meddle with our political and financial environment.Hate and respect actually does not even enter into the equation.

Usually it's the other way around - "liberals" are always trying to prove that "conservatives" are stupid. Whenever there's a Republican president, there's usually an attempt to discredit his intelligence. Remember the whole red state versus blue state controversy in 2004? Democrats were feverishly spreading an email around that said people in the blue states have higher IQs than people in the red states. So, I think it's just the nature of the political beast and immature individuals, not so much a conservative versus liberal thing. And if it were, I'd say it's much more of a problem on your side of the aisle than the other side.

There is a difference between school education and street education. The longer you spend in college with the communists who teach there, the more likely you are to be a liberal. I spent 5 years in college (note it was a 5 year program) and I saw what goes on there.

There is a reason why most self-made millionaires are conservatives. It is a different mindset to succeed like this.

There is a difference between stupid and uneducated/ignorant. Liberals do not understand how the world works. They do not understand human motivation, economics, evil, and the list goes on and on.

But how can I respect your beliefs?

I am anti-racist - and that includes any quotas or affirmative action plans. Yet you say 'Those are necessary and good'.

I am pro-Ameican and American culture, and the melting pot made us great.. Yet you say 'Diversity is good,' But you are without a shred of proof.

I am pro-English language as a unfying factor in this country. Yet you say "Teach them in their own languge,' slowing their assimilation into society and Balkanizing the US.

I believe homosexuality is not natural and marriage is one man, one woman. Yet you say 'Accept homosexuality. It's a way of life. Same-sex marriages are good.'

I believe that people pay all the taxes. Businesses don't - they just pass them on in their costs. Yet you say 'We're not going to raise your taxes - we're going to stick it to businesses,' to try to delude your electorate.

I believe in Smith and Wesson. You believe self-defense is 'unreasonable exercise of force.'

I believe a life is a life and is inviolate until that life of its own actions forfeits its right to live. You believe it's acceptable to kill the unborn but not the savage murderer.

I believe a business may keep its profits to give a good return to its owners/investors and fund growth and reasearch and development. You believe profits are 'windfalls' that should be confiscated.

I believe man is capable of determining his own fate. You believe only the government should control man's fate.

I believe that "his' and 'he' are neuter pronouns when used with mixed sex groups and that 'their' is a plural possessive that must never be used with a singular antecedent. You believe that 'he/she' and 'Each child took their book" are grammatically correct English.

I believe the earth is warming, just as it has many times in the past eons. You believe my barbeque grill caused it.

I could go on and on - but there are just too many differences to enumerate. I just cannot coceive how a supposedly educated person can continue to hold those beliefs.

You do not respect ours. There is a difference between well-educated and rational. Many of my college professors are well-educated, but completely lost to any sort of rationality. People who have Ph.d.s have been in another world their entire lives and do not seem to have any touch on the real world, but think they know everything.

Besides most liberals are not well-educated and I am guessing you are in High School, so I would venture to say you are not well-educated either. Tell your teachers thank you for corrupting our youth. The national education system, a manufacturing line for the Democratic Party.

Idiotsreside - lol. nice. nice.

liberals on the extreme left seem to me to think with their heart rather than the brain. They tend to let their emotions guide their thinking towards solutions. Conservatives tend to bring up solutions that are more practical than emotional. Liberals also seem to me to want the government to take of everybody, 'it's the government's responsibility'. I feel the democrats want to control everything in everybody's day to day lives. Nobody wants to accept any responsibility for their own actions anymore, it's always somebody elses fault.

I myself am a republican for one reason and one reason only - to protect ALL the freedoms granted all law abiding Americans in our country's Constitution, especially the second amendment - the right to bear arms. Without this freedom we cannot protect the others.
