I would suggest Final Fantasy 12.

Its a good game, where you can explore and have fun in my opinion.

But - I would also suggest - Simpsons Hit And Run. Its like GTA, but Simpsons style. Its a good game.

Get chased my Police Chief Wigan
Do tasks
Borrow "Cars"
etc

Ask yourself this - "What games have you played before that you liked" - if we know, we might be able to suggest something similar or abit like it. If you have a specific genre of game, we can help you even more.

The more specific you are, the more likely we can be more precise ;)

Hope I helped in some little way.

Hope you find a suggested game, which you buy and like.

ANY PS3 will play PS1 games...although there may be some compatibility issues PS2 games can only be played on the 60GB, 20GB and old 80GB version of the console (one that was out at the same time as the 20GB most likely have 4 USB ports) unfortunately there is nothing that can be done to the newer models to allow them to play the games as the hardware that supports this feature was removed. However the PSN is constantly being updated with classic PS1/2 games that you can download unfortunately this means you will have to pay for them again but if you sold your original copy you might get the money to buy it as they normally cost around £7 (dunno of US or other countries prices)

Grand Theft Auto games.... You can play the game and mess around just driving and running "people" over and trying not to get caught by the police. Or just stealing cars and blowing them up by shooting at them. Or my favorite, drive the car really fast and trying to jump off the car when is going towards the water. You are going to laugh a lot and make points at the same time. I just have a GTA I and II, but it entertainment a lot when I'm bored.

Guitar Hero 1 and 2 are the great games and can provide a lot of entertainment. Both are playable over and over again and it never gets boring.
Katamari Damacy is also a great game just for messing around.

There is absolutely no other game that will suit your needs except....

Spider-Man 3

It comes out May...1 ? i believe?! It will be amazing... if you like to goof off and do whatever, its kinda fun to swing around the whole of Manhattan.

Just a suggestion :)

All the Burnout games are great fun, though your "messing around" is limited to racing and crashing.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. One of the longest games in my opinion and you only do new missions when you want to, plus there are missions you can do on the side whenever you want.
