It sounds like it could be yeast issues (my girlfriend in college had something similar). However, you'll never really know until you get it checked out by a professional. I wouldn't rely on this forum to find a reliable answer.

this could be yeast infection, vaginitis, chlamydia & there is another called trichnosis or something like that & possibly other infections...... I dunno...
I have had yeast & vaginitis neither had a bad smell and both itched really bad!! With yeast, the discharge what sortof like thin cottage cheese.
I had a room-mate when I was in college... she complained that she had a discharge that she described as smelly & sort-of greenish...finally she went to the doctor and was diagnosed with Chlamydia
also, years ago, a friend of mine had to beg her teenage daughter to go to the doctor when she noticed a discharge stain in her daughters panties while washing laundry. Her daughter had some infection & I think it was trichnosis or something like that
Please go to a Gynocologist. I know it is embarassing. I felt the same way when I was 19 & had my first yeast infection. Trust me when I tell you that if your gyno knew you didn't come because of embarassement they would tell you that (1) when they were in school they came to understand that the majority of time they were going to be needed to see sickly vaginas & (2) they have seen all there is to see about a woman's body & the illnesses we women are subject to

It could be many things, ranging from serious to nothing to worry about. I would go see your oby/gyn and talk to them about it. Since a discharge is a common sympton of all sorts of vaginal problems, its hard to give an accurate diagnosis. But any discharge should not have a smell to it, unless its very light, seeing as it is a bodily fluid. But since you say it has an odor, I think its worth getting checked out.

Its probably Bacterial Vaginosis, a very common thing. Your gynecologist will just prescribe a special antibiotic for you, and that should get rid of it. But there are other diseases that have NO other symptoms, so you REALLY need to get to your doctor ASAP. You could be hurting your own fertility.
You can also talk to a physical therapist who specializes in Women's Health.... go to www.APTA.org, and look under 'find a PT' in your zip code, and you can call a therapist and just ask a question. But honestly, even after they answer your question, they are seriously going to tell you to get to your gynecologist.

I know this sounds discusting but I have seen in more than once working in a busy Emergency Department that a woman forgets and leaves a tampon up in her vagina for months. Or it could possibly be an infection that originates in your uterous. Or a fistula between your rectum and vagina. I know all of these don't sound good. Please get over the embarrassment and care for your body and go to your doctor believe me they have seen worse and if not it is their problem yours is being healthy.

Since the discharge is recent, it could be from an infection of some kind.
See a doctor for proper diagnosis and treatment. That is the only way you can get rid of it.
Don't be embarrassed. Being embarrassed about a medical problem can get you killed.
My friend died of vaginal cancer for that reason. Please don't make that mistake.

mm, Have the same Problem..
i get it before and after my period.
it isnt bad as long as it only happens the same time of cycle and the same basic color and smell.
but i belive that it is your vagina cleaning its self of all the bactiria that dotn belong there...
no need to worry unless it changes
but if you are stil really nervous, call a medical line, you wont talkto some one face to face and they can tell you sme more accurate answers without a diagnosis

Get over your embarassment, and see a Dr. You could have an infection, or maybe you've left in a tampon.
